So Fisher Price can have their names and we'll have ours. They are Patty (left) Ling Ling (right). Patty is short for Patty Perm because she looks like she has a really bad perm (original, huh?). Note: Thus far, this is the cheesiest post I've ever written. It gets better, and believe me when I say we'll more than make up for it in "Part 2."
So Marielle was playing with her Little People, and we were watching a bit of television. As we watch TV, we can hear Marielle carrying out conversations with her Little People. Then we hear, "You're in timeout. I told you ... I told you." This catches our attention since neither of us said it. We look over to Marielle as she proceeds to place one of her Little People in one of the corners on the first floor of her barn. She leaves him their and goes on to play with the others. We found it hilarious, cute, and sad all at the same time. I thought it was sad that she acts out time out like we are using it all the time.
Then, just the other day I was at PetsMart with Marielle. We were picking up food for Sophie. As we were checking out, Marielle noticed a yellow lab at the front of the store waiting to be adopted. He was in a large kennel. Marielle said hi and then commented that, "the doggie's in time out." As the cashier found this adorable, I was again shocked. Now everyone at PetsMart probably wonders if we are putting Marielle in time out all of the time (in a cage no less).
I'm sure I'm overreacting, and I guess I am just always amazed at what our little ones all learn. In some cases we don't even realize they are learning it. Stay tuned for "Part 2" to read about how we, and by we I mean me, discover more things we didn't realize she was learning.
