Tiny Dancer

Marc and I signed Marielle up for a dance class a couple weeks ago. Last week was the first lesson, well it's the first lesson we made it to. We missed the first week because family was in town visiting. When we showed up last week for the lesson the teacher said to Marielle "say goodbye to Mommy and Daddy." Marc and I didn't know that Marielle had to do the class by herself and she was not quite prepared for it. She cried when we tried to leave and grabbed my leg and just kept saying "Mommy," I felt so bad. Marc ended up sitting with her on a bench in the room and watching all the other girls dance. I tended to Harper and anxiously kept peaking in the window to see if Marielle had started dancing with the other girls, she never did. Marc, however, did dance. In an effort to get Marielle interested, he tried to do part of the lesson with all the other little ones - complete with pirouettes. We will try again this weekend. Anyway, we did go and buy her a dance outfit like all the other girls had. If anything the class is worth enrolling in just to buy her the outfit. I know I am biased, but I think she looks pretty darn cute.

Marielle's as Blind as Her Parents

So none of these are really great pictures of Marielle with her glasses. It's been hard getting a good photo since she only wears them for a half hour at a time.

Yes, it is official, we have passed on the gift of near-sightedness to our daughter. At least we think we have. This is what the ophthalmologist said, and, after all, she has the degree. I'm still trying to understand how she was able to deduce this during the exam - let alone get an actual prescription out of it - considering Marielle screamed and squirmed for the entire thing.

She's starting to get used to them, and as bummed as we are that she already has glasses we think she looks stinkin' cute in them. When we put them on her for the first time in the house, she immediately said, "Look at the floor! Do you see the floor?" We think she can finally see the individual wood grain in the floor. Or she says, "I can see the TV!" They still need some adjustments, but she's getting good at pushing them up as they slide down her dinky nose.

Harper's New Skill: Smile :)

Sisters at Play

Marielle has adjusted very well to her little sister. She gives Harper lots of love and attention and constantly tells me how cute she thinks her little sister is. She also wants to cuddle with Harper, kiss her, and hold her hand. She also wants to play with her, which mostly consists of Marielle laying toys with her sister (see picture).
Marielle has also has started mimicking what I do with Harper. Marielle takes her blanket (Nona), which she treats like a baby by rocking it, lays it in Harper's bouncy chair, attempting to feed it with a bottle, and singing to it.

Where's the Cheese?

I've been purging photos from my cellphone and came across this gem! Yes that is PC as a rodent. We miss you guys.

Baby Bling?

Do we really need to start grooming the next Paris Hilton? Thanks Babies R Us for this bedazzled piece of craziness!
