Washington Park and the Euro Invasion

First for the Euro Invasion: Yes, that is a man, in Washington Park (nowhere near a beach), in a speedo! We were on our way out of the park, talking about how much fun the kids had, when this image gets seared into our brains forever. Viv thought the guy even flexed his butt for us when we saw him. I only had time to snap one covert picture and didn't realize I had it set for B&W. Without the color, you just don't get the full effect of the speedo in all its neon orange glory. You'll just have to imagine it ... no, wait, don't!

Outside of snapping paparazzi-esque photos of sun bathers, our reason for being in Washington Park was to meet up with Colette, Geoff, and Alex for some fun at the playground. Geoff and Colette had been wise in not telling Alex where they were going. We mentioned the playground as we were buckling Marielle into the car, and then got to here her chant, "slide, slide" all the way downtown. Honestly though, we love how much she likes the park and being outdoors. The two little ones he a blast zipping down each of the three slides, playing on the swings, and just running around. They still only do a lot of parallel play and less cruising around together, but they are always thrilled to see each other.

We later all sat down for Thai food and confirmed that Marielle does not have a peanut allergy.

Look at you guys going all blog crazy. We found out Nathan didnt have a peanut allergy either when, over Christmas, I turned around to the backseat only to see my brother sharing a PB&J with Nathan. Its probably better that way...jumping in with both feet. Otherwise I would have carefully put a miniscule taste on his tongue, phone in hand ready to dial 911. :) What does she think of peanuts (butter)? Nathan could take it or leave it.

PS- I always feel like we are missing out on all the fun outings....but I think our aquarium is better. :)

I've got three more on deck, so be ready for fresh reads all week.

Your aquarium gets top honors although Denver's isn't too bad. We have tanks that trace the path through a river system from beginning to end but no dolphin pool that's a lawsuit-waiting-to-happen.

I love the pic of Marielle in the swing. Next time I will make sure to not put Alex in sandals so he can enjoy the park, not obsess about the sand in his shoes!
