So Viv and I have been feeling really bad about the fact that we have yet to blog about our visitors from New York. Back in May, Viv's Dad and his wife Meredith came out to spend a weekend with us. We've really been feeling bad about not covering their visit yet, we've mainly had a lot of photos to include. Both of them have been gracious enough to not point out our shortcoming. It was a shorter visit, but we managed to fit in a trip to the zoo, some house hunting, and lots of great food.
After a late Thursday evening arrival, we headed out to breakfast on Friday morning. We went to one of our new favorite breakfast spots. It's called Snooze. So far everything we've eaten there has been great. Although we've tried lots of different meals, one of us always gets the Pancake Flight and then we share it. You get a Snickers pancake, a pineapple upside-down pancake, and then the daily pancake selection. Mmmmmmm.
After breakfast, we headed to the Denver Zoo so that Marielle could show Poppi and Nana her favorite animals. Later that day we had Korean food for dinner at a Korean Barbecue restaurant in Aurora (it is also one of our favorites) where, to all of our surprise, we watched Marielle eat her first Kimchee Jig Gae. For the uninitiated, this is a soup and it's one of the spiciest things Koreans eat.
She went through three or four spoonfuls, calmly exhaled, said, "it's spicy," and then asked for a sip of water. On Saturday, we went out to breakfast at another one of our morning favorites. We then spent the day looking at model homes. Eugene and Meredith have been house hunting back East and we thought it'd be fun for them to compare what you get for your money in Colorado versus New York/Connecticut. After heading home in the afternoon to relax for a bit we headed out to Boulder for dinner. Meredith had never been to Boulder and seemed to really like the feel of the town. We all strolled up and down Pearl Street after eating sushi.
We had a great weekend but it was all too short. We can't wait for them to visit again, or for us to head back the NY to visit them.

Now that I'm seeing the post published, the lioness at the end seems kind of random. In case any were wondering, she was at the zoo.
