A few weeks ago, the Denver Auto Show came to town, and let me tell you, "I love the auto show." It's got all of the cars at hand to crawl in an out of and ooh and aah over without any of those high-pressure sales types floating around. In previous years, Viv has toughed it out, come along, and suffered through the minimum 6+ hours I like to spend covering the main hall of the Colorado Convention Center. Last year, Marielle also toughed it out. This year, Viv opted out. Marielle and I went, and we later met my parents. Although I
like looking at all the different cars, this year, our perusing focused squarely on ... wait for it ... MINI-VANS! That's right, we are starting to embrace the overwhelming practicality of the 7 and 8-seat wonder that is the mini-van. To retain some semblance of coolness, we've been leaning towards the import offerings from Honda, Toyota, and the like (sorry Mom and Dad).
Marielle had a lot of fun climbing inside the cars, but her activity of choice was strutting on as many of the show car platforms as she could find. For the most part, she would simply sit along the edge of the platforms like it was the coolest thing ever. Over at the Nissan display, she found a nice big stage where she even danced a little bit.

So....what minivan are you looking at? You said you want foreign...Im not sure what the import laws are on cars but we could make you a *great* deal on a 1989 Toyota Town Ace Super Extra. ;)
I think that the U.S. Customs Officials in the animal control department might take issue with you letting the dangerous Habu into the country.
I really wanted to get a close look at the Honda Passport but Marielle had a minor meltdown shortly after I took these photos. I also like the Toyota Sienna (partly because the sliding door windows roll down), but it seems like you have to go all the way to the high-end model before you get any of the moderately cool features.
I told Viv that we'll need the in-car entertainment system so that all of us Dads can play some PS3 while our kids are warming up for their soccer match. Geoff, PC, are you in?
